Waiting

Waiting…

“I’m waiting, I’m waiting on you Lord, and I am peaceful.”

The song running through my head today. The message heard on Wednesday resonating in my heart today. Waiting…

Waiting. Something we as humans try to avoid. Something seen as a hindrance, but something God sees as a time of purifying. Growth.

I’m waiting. Waiting for doors to open. Waiting for God’s voice to tell me what’s next. Waiting.

God is so silent…or so it seems.

But He is NOT.

“I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” That’s what He says.

We don’t like waiting. He uses waiting.

We balk when we hear the word, try to avoid it. We want it now.

We don’t see the big picture. We don’t see behind the scenes.

He does.

And he says “Wait.”

He says, “Wait, Child, for those who wait on me shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings like eagles!”

And so today I wait.

Today I choose to wait.

  1. Beautifully written, Emily! Love seeing what God is revealing to you expressed through your writing. Here's a something I heard recently: "Do we expect thunder and lightning, but miss the whisper? Sometimes God whispers so we will move closer to Him." Blessings, dear!
